A review of LEADER in England Full report
This report was commissioned by Defra to provide evidence to inform the design of new apporaches to delivering local Rural Development policy within the new Common Agricultural Policy budget that will come into operation in 2014. The study was carried out in collaboration with Rose Regerantion Ltd, Professor John Shpeherd from Birkbeck University and Terry Carroll from Newcastle Univeristy.

Market Towns
East Midlands Development Agency
This summary report outlines the findings of a study of secondary centres of economic activity in the East Midlands. Secondary centres are defined here as urban settlements that are smaller than a principal urban area, but still significant as a centre of economic activity. In this study, secondary centres include a range of settlements, from large industrial towns to small market towns. This research has been undertaken by the Enterprise Research and Development Unit at the University of Lincoln for the East Midlands Development Agency (emda).

Newark and Sherwood District Council
As the policies of the UK’s new coalition government unfold, it appears that the private sector will take the bulk of the responsibility for sustaining economic recovery. In order to understand the implications for local economies, this paper highlights areas of growth potential and the barriers that business-owners are encountering. Based on a postal survey of businesses in the study area of Newark and Sherwood, a representative rural district in a middling region, research has identified that the majority of firms are still planning to grow despite significant concerns over investment finance and working capital.
Evaluation of East Lindsey Active
East Lindsey District Council
The aim of East Lindsey Active is to improve the health and well-being of local residents, and to connect people to nature in their local area. The main focus of the project is on the coastal strip as this is proven to have the highest levels of obesity and the lowest levels of physical activity in the region
